This event was set up to help give Islington residents access to information about routine cancer screening appointments that take place every 3-5 years. Three types of cancer were discussed: bowel cancer, cervical cancer, and breast cancer. The presentation covered multiple things, including when cancer screening appointments take place, how your GP will contact you, and what will take place at the appointment itself. The presentation was delivered in Bengali as all the women who attended were Bengali, and some were not fluent in English. The participants also started small discussions of their own about their previous experiences and were able to share with one another how they find current screening services. A total of 9 participants attended the event.
