The gardening project is run from the Garden Space at the Barnsbury Community Centre in partnership with Newlon Housing Trust provided an excellent opportunity for our residents to engage in a variety of outdoor activities within the vicinity of their neighbourhood using the therapeutic medium of gardening. All the participants reside on the local estates in high rise towers and housing blocks who do not have access to garden space that they can call their own.
Taking part in the gardening project it provides resourceful green spaces to grow sustainable food, connect with the environment, build community cohesion and make new friends. It was also a chance for the participants to be creative and make space that everyone can use.
